Shelter [top]
Tabitha House Shelter (TCS) for women and children is dedicated to serving the immediate needs of women and children who have been victims of domestic violence, homelessness and recovering from substance abuse. Our programs are structured to promote self-dependence in a safe, warm and productive environment, which enables mothers to stabilize, confront issues, learn appropriate behavior and life skills. As a result, clients will successfully reintegrate into society where they have an opportunity to become productive citizens.

Supportive Services [top]
TCS core services also include: Intensive Personal Assessments, Case Management, Goal Setting, Permanent Housing Assistance, Substance Abuse Referrals and Domestic Violence Services and Work & Training Program.

Spiritual Enrichment & Missions Outreach [top]
Our program offers a wide range of classes and weekly group sessions, which focus on character building and self-esteem. The women face, and move toward change as they address the obstacles and situations that threaten their personal growth. Individuals are given the opportunity to share, evaluate and learn meaningful biblical insight. Undoubtedly, this experience affords opportunities for spiritual and personal development. The Mission Outreach Center provides an open door to churches and mission's groups to participate by sharing their gifts and talents in some of the following areas:

  1. Ministering the Gospel
  2. Spiritual Enrichment Classes
  3. Ministry Internship
  4. Working with Children
  5. Facility Enhancement
…plus many more short and long term projects

Domestic Violence Program [top]
TCS Women and Children are often traumatized and require emergency intervention and special supportive services. TCS offers temporary short-term shelter for women seeking safety from an abusive relationship. The shelter supplies emergency food and clothing, as well as referrals for legal advocates counseling and other community resources.

Work and Training Program [top]
The TCS Work and Training Program is designed to ensure job readiness and preparation. Residents who live at Tabitha are required to participate.

  1. TCS residents who live at Tabitha House may be enrolled in a more intensive educational program such as Job Core, Cosmetology, Medical Assistance, Military School or alternative extended training program.

  2. Our network is comprised of a variety of agencies that assist us in reaching our goals. We therefore except clients from other programs to participate in our work and training programs.

Medical Services [top]
TCS collaborates with various medical centers to ensure the well being of all women and children. Our goal is to make sure that every woman and child has a complete physical upon entering the shelter. We offer HIV testing, diabetic screening, hypertension, child wellness classes, WIC services and many other health educational classes.
